I always hear complaints about how the tropical South doesn’t get “real” fall. (Sometimes from me, but still.) But if you know what to look for, this area does have seasons, albeit subtle ones. For fall, I look for the color moss green. Filled with tropical rainstorms, the summer has left everything so beautifully lush and intense. The light is warmer, the sunsets sooner, and the days just feel lusher. It’s raining as I write this, but the sun is still shining and the day feels cozy – even though it’s 80deg F outside.
Moss green is a color prevalent in “real” fall, too. Before the leaves completely fall, before the snow starts to cover everything, warm mossy green is the last color to shine before the air starts to cool.
This warm yellow-green is a bit magical, a bit whimsical, and a natural fit for between the seasons. Let’s look at some ways you can add it to your color, interior or wedding projects this year. If you need some help with working with this for your project, just let me know!

Moss Green Paint Colors
This is a great color for painted surfaces – or tile for that matter. ESPECIALLY if you have a penchant for glossy surfaces. The opposite is true, too, it’s really great for velvety surfaces, too. It instantly adds a grounding element, setting a firm foundation for more neutral tones like white, cream, and black, and looks amazing with brass accents that draw out the golden tones in the green. LUSH, right?

Moss Green Exterior Ideas
This color can be a bit tricky to work with. But it’s really more about shifting your mental state – this is a color that works best with natural, warm, earthy styles. Or with accents that have that feeling.
Don’t try to force this color onto a super modern house without any other natural accent. It’ll feel weird and dated immedately.
But this would be an incredible front door color on a house with wood siding, or a great shutter accent on a house with a wood front door.
Think warm and natural. Moss on a forest floor. That sort of vibe.
I do hope you’re enjoying your transition into the next season, wherever you may be. If you ever need help with your projects, just reach out, and I’ll be there for ya! Happy Fall To You!
